Is your cat peeing anywhere but the litterbox?
You can be sure if cats suddenly start to pee outside their litterbox, that there is something really bothering them and you’ll need to find out what it is.
If you are having this problem, you have probably explored lots of possibilities, but let’s have a look at some reasons why cats sometimes start peeing elsewhere than in their very own litterbox! Here are 7 good reasons why they might be doing this (with thanks to floppycats.com).
- Here’s the big one…UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) or blockage; Bladder infection; Urinary Crystals
This is the first set of possiblities to check out, as they’re the most serious reasons likely to affect your cat. A UTI can be dangerous, so take good care and get your cat to the vet as soon as you can. If there is an underlying infection, cats may associate the box with pain, and prefer to go elsewhere to try to get away from the issue.
